Fan I Am.

Star Struck!

When I met Paula Findlay at my office a few weeks ago, she may have thought I was a bit of a nut bar - I was star struck and had a slew of questions. I told her about my recent successes in qualifying for the Age Group Worlds which will take place the same time/ place as the ITU Grand Finals, which she will be competing at.

I drilled her with questions such as, "how's the red blood cell count?" and "which sport/ discipline are you feeling needs the most focus right now to you?" I really admire her honesty and openness.

I just read her recent blog post where she describes her road to recovery and to getting back in shape. This post inspired me as she's very candid about her struggles and how improving sometimes feels like an uphill battle. She's got a positive attitude and is surrounded with positive people. I believe in Paula and I am certain that she will do great things and proudly represent Canada!

RECIPE: Power Chili

Check out my LATEST favourite recipe: Power Chili (quinoa and bison chili). I found this in the "Outside" Magazine as it's one of Trey Hardee's (US decathlete) go-to meals.

I can't get enough of this - I make a giant batch and freeze it. So delicious, nutritious, convenient and quick!

NU Year >> NU trition

HAMMER Nutrition Canada

I started the year off with a fantastic partnership; I was selected as one of 8 Canadian Hammer Nutrition Athlete Ambassadors to represent and promote their products and brand! I have been using Hammer's products for over 5 years now and love them! I am excited to be able to share my knowledge and experience with other athletes to help them train with and benefit from their products.

BIG GAINS

Hammer Nutrition Canada produces the highest quality fuels and supplements for endurance athletes. They only use natural ingredients and they have tons of products to choose from: protein powders, gels, hammer bars, drink mix, etc. You can completely fulfill your pre–, during–, and post–workout requirements from their line of fuels.

I already used this line of products religiously because of their commitment to using only natural ingredients (no trans fats, preservatives, additivescoatings, soy, refined sugars or dairy).

CHOICES

I use their gels for runs and rides (esp. apple cinnamon and espresso) and their Perpetuem mix for 2+ hour rides. The taste of their Energy Bar is out-of-this-world, it puts a Cliff, Elevate Me! or Vega bar to shame (esp. the cashew coconut chocolate chip flavour **yummm).

With so many choices and combinations of choices, how do you know which to choose? I've attached the Product Usage chart and you can browse the website to learn more at Hammer Nutrition Canada: www.shophammernutrition.ca
